Diamond Watchman Goby

My diamond Watchman Goby has recently started swimming higher up onto the rocks in my tank and seemingly nibbling at the rocks. Is this normal activity for this fish or is it indication that he is not getting enough food. Up to this time he has stayed on the bottom sifting the sand. I have just recently seen him swimming up high. Thanks for the help

Sounds normal to me. Sounds like activity that my pink spotted goby does.

Does he sift a lot or occasionally. I had a bullet goby once and that is all he did was sift sand. From morning till night.

Mine sifts sand all the time. Swims or perches himself higher up on the rocks when he's on the lookout.
