fowlr light fixture help

I have seen some mixed review on different sites. In a fowlr i am going to be putting the fishneedit 24" 4x24w as of right now I have one 24" bulb that came with the tank I would say probaly 24w bulb. does a fowlr need to be acclimated to the new light? I read that mostly it effects corals?

You can just put the new light over the tank. You are correct in that the increase in lighting will only affect corals.
