Mine seems to hide a lot. Doesn't like to come out and swim unless I shut all my pumps off

Yeah, he's just getting accustomed to his new home.

Thanks. I figured that's why he hides just seems weird soon as I turn off the pumps with in a minute he is out and about

He will always be somewhat timid, it's just their nature. But he'll get better in time. He's a bit freaked out right now.
