Heya I've had this problem for about 6 weeks it grew this much and I got all the rocks out and picked it all off and it revealed alot of purple algae, anyways it looked great for about 3 weeks and now it's all back again, my phosphates are low and everything else is perfect. None of my cuc seem to eat it so does anyone know what it is and and solution, I don't want to take them all out again and clean them as I have loads of clear corral that comes out so I don't wanna damage them

Thanks in advance and thank god we can upload photos from the iPhone again :)

Afraid not, they are so small I can't get a decent shot, I've spent the last month trailing species lists and I can't find them anywhere, there absolutly see through but they come out about mid day and if a shrimp goes near them it shrivels up and hides, and then it opent up again it's about the size of a 5pence piece

So the green stuff is defo hair algae, I'm goin to take them out again, get all the algae of them and not put my lights on for a month, I'm going to clean all my equipment in the tank, and get another 20 snails and 10 hermits :)

Lucky you that you have no corals! I wish i could just put my tank in complete blackness to get rid of my algae. Make sure to do water changes as the algae dies, it will be releasing nitrates.
