Hermit crab molting

I was for sure my hermit crab got murdered today. Turns out he just molted or whatever. I didn't realize how it looked exactly, I almost through out the shell. Later I saw it walking across the tank and I was like what the F. lol glad he didnt get it. I have a emerald with him and a snowflake eel.

I'm glad you controlled yourself and just went with an F. This is a family friendly site. That said, yes the first time I saw that moulting of my shrimp and hermits I thought for sure it was dead. You should go to a hobby store and pick up some extra shells because after each moult your hermit will get bigger and will need a bigger shell.

+1 for extra shells. BOIL them for about 10 minutes and let the cool before putting them into the tank.
