Hermit crab wisps

So I was looking at my scarlet legged hermit crab today and on the very top of his shell there's a tiny hole and these wisp looking things come out and sway then go back inside the tiny hole he seems fine acting totally normal actually he's probably had them for a couple weeks and has been fine so what are they
