I am currently using a fluidized bed filter from my previous fresh water tank. Will this complement the LR I have or will it do more harm?

If you have enough LR to handle the biological filtration, you won't need to add any other type of bio filtration. I think adding a fluidized bed might increase nitrate levels as well. Do you have a protein skimmer? That's really the only extra filtration you would want assuming you have at least 1.5lbs of LR per gal .

Yes, I have a protein skimmer as well. But I only have 1lb of LR per gal. Is this still enough without the use of a fluidized bed?

That depends on your fish load. I would spend the money on more LR rather than a filter though. JMHO.
