Light requirements for snails and crabs

Hi all. Just wanted to know if snails and hermit crabs have the same light requirements as fish do. I have a 10g salt with LR and LS with hermit crabs, snails and pods only. Thanks

Just any type of lighting is fine for them.

Maybe I should have more clear. Can I reduce the amount of time that I have the lights on or have them off at all times to save on power?

Oh yeah they don't care. As long as you have a night day cycle they won't care

For fish and inverts lighting doesnt matter. Most of it is the aquarists prefference.

They only need to see to eat. Ambient light from the room/window is usually enough.

I just bought a 40g tank, and it came in a kit with lights and a bunch of other stuff in it. The light in the kit says that is ideal for freshwater, but I have a saltwater tank. Can I still use this light? Or should I just buy a new one?

Is this fish only? Yes that is fine.

Do you want corals and/or anemone? Then no. You will need to buy a better light fixture.

Then you will be fine with the stock lighting.
