I have a large FOWLR tank with plenty of LR. I have one of the Coralife fixtures that have blue actinic lights and MHs. I have been mainly running the blue actinic during the summer and now I have been putting the MHs on. When I put the MHs on I realized that the tank hada greenish appearance to it (not the water, more like on the surface of the rocks). There is also coraline algae still present but I am missing the pretty pinks and purples.

I am assuming that because I have been strictly using light in the blue spectrum I am not getting a "fuller" representation of coraline algae. Basically I have been promoting greener types of growth.

Does this make sense?

Thanks,
Pete R.
