Lionfish with tail

Is it bad if my lionfish has a tail sticking out of his mouth and can't swallow the fish ahhh

No, they won't bite more than they can eventually swallow. My lion does it all the time. Not so much with shrimp, but more with fish.

Be careful letting this happen on a regular basis. Lions are notorious for swallowing thing tey cant fully it into their stomachs. If it goes uncheked repeatedly, itll lead to gastrointestinal complications and possibly death. Simple answer: dont let it happen repeatedly

Yea it has happened to mine a few times as well. I now cut silver sides in half and feed him once every two days
