poly filters

i must have alot of copper in my tank.i put poly filters in for three days and they were dark blue.put more in and left in for a week and dark blue.is there a cheaper way to get this copper out besides poly filters

there is no fish in tank

Lots of water changes will dilute it, but since you added such a large dose and left the sand in the tank, the sand absorbed lots of the copper and it will take time for it to leech back out and for the poly filters to absorb what leeches out.
You should take this as a lesson learned. There are no shortcuts to success.
