Hello im a new guy here and i was wondering if i can use established media from a brackish tank to help with cycling my 100g FOWLER tank. I was planning to use a filter sponge and some gravel in a seperate HOB in addition to the one i currently have running. thanks!

Any decaying matter will help. I'm not sure on close the brackish beneficial bacteria are the the sw genus, but it's definitely worth a try.

That is a good question. I would think that if salinity was a lot lower in the brackish tank the bacteria might not make it in a true salt water tank.

For anyone wondering it seems to be working our cycle is doing quite well. The brackish bacteria made it in the saltwater

: ) yey
