Royal Gramma | Royal Dotty Back - Differences?

Hi Guys,
I ordered in a Royal Gramma from my LFS. When I went in, they advised me they had ordered the wrong kind... (Royal Dotty Back). I haven't made a decision as to whether I want to take the Dotty Back over the Gramma. But I was hoping someone knew the differences.

The main difference I have noticed is that the Gramma's colours "fade".
Whereas the Dotty Back's colours are more of a sharp line.

Are there any differences between the two?
-Diet
-Compatibilty
-Tank Size
-Rarity
-$$
-Species (IE Basslet)

I have spent ages googling this, but can't find any real destinctions, other than you can't keep them both together.

Thanks in advance guys.

They are 2 different species, but have similar requirements. The dottyback is more aggressive tho.

Royal Gramma - Gramma loreto

Definitely more aggressive. If your "my tanks" is correct and you only have a 5g and 10g, I would NOT get the dottyback unless that will be your only fish.

Thanks for the reply's.

After visiting the marine aquarium, I have found that the gramma is three times the price of the dottyback! They have a black spot on their fin, and a stripe across their eye, the dottyback doesn't.

I need to upgrade my profile, but I am about to start cycling my 40g marine tank with dry/wet trickle system, and he's going to hold the gramma as long as I need.
