there is a great deal on salt from amazon and was wondering if instant ocean is any good

Its just as good as any. They all have their pros and cons.

ive been using oceanic for years but I can get six times the amount for the same price and free shipping

Instant Ocean for non-coral tanks, Reef Crystals, for reefs. Good salt brand.

You can use Instant Ocean with corals, but will probably want to raise calcium levels in it.
