Sand substrate

I'm fairly new to the hobby and I have live sand for my substrate. I'm having trouble keeping it clean. I have a couple pics up. Any suggestions on what to do

How long do you leave your lights on? Also, getting some more cleaners would help manage it.

Generally you can run the lights for about 8 hours. If you don't have a timer ya can pick up a water proof one from a hardware store.
