I've had this fluval edge running for about 7 months and I want to change something. Whether that be add a mate, rearrange the rock...etc.

Any ideas/suggestions?

Without knowing anything about your setup it is extremely hard, if not impossible, to suggest anything to add to your tank. Some critters just can't live together.

One fish lives there. Its a perc. That's it. I have a huge colony of featherdusters and 2 snails. Like 100 bristle stars and that's it.

Then I wouldn't add anything else to the tank and maybe rearrange rock. A 6 gallon isn't large enough for more than one fish, even what you have in there will outgrow the tank quickly.

I'm planning something similar with my 6g edge.

The mrs wants a perc as well. I've told her (as it is kind of a deal breaker to going salty) that we can until it is too big.

After that I think you could look at button polyp / Zoa garden (depending on lighting) and some inverts.

Add corals :) corals always add more character to the tank
