used remora question

Hi all. I just got a used Remora protien skimmer with the maxijet 1200 and prefilter box. The seller cleaned it up pretty good but there is still some left over residue on the equipment. Can I put all the pieces in bleach water for awhile and then rinse thoroughly to kill everything or will the bleach discolor the box. Also, I'm a little confused as to how the prefilter goes on the pump etc. Any help would be appreciated.

I have the same setup. You use the screw on the bottom on the box to attach it by pressure, to the pump which is inside.

I love mine, hope yours performs as well as mine.

I wouldnt go with bleach for cleaning, I'd try to do some scraping and heavy scrubbing.

thanks carey. Do the bubbles come up to the collection cup right away or does it take a while?

It should take a few days since youre starting off with a very clean one.

Mine actually took about 2 weeks to break in so just give it time.
