wet/dry filter good for FOWLR

could i hook up a wet/dry filter with a FOWLR tank or would it be better to just have a sump in my 75 gal.

wet/dry filters are fine for FOWLR i think but they produce alot of nitrates so keep that in mind if you ever decide to go reef

Im worried about the sump part overflowing...would that happen in a wet/dry filter or only in a home made sump

just make sure you have a siphon break and you wont over flow. Make sure youre handling the gph correctly also.
