I am not sure how to calulate the gph that i need for an above tank fuge. I am putting in a 5 gallon fuge above my display tank. What powerhead should i use to pump the water up 2 feet to the fuge. Am i looking for a certain gph thru the fuge. I have been told that the water should go thru the fuge slowly???? Any help or ideas??

Thanks

Richard

The advice of a slower flow though your fuge it correct. I run a MaxiJet 400 to pump water into my fuge. The water movement in my fuge is fairly slow, but not stagnant.

My fuge is next to my sump (underneath) the tank. The MaxiJet 400 pumps water up about a foot into the fuge and gravity drains it back into the fuge. It'd guess I am pushing 85 to 95 GPH into my fuge.
