Java Moss from Hara

The package was delayed in the mail somewhere (noone's fault), and arrived a few days late. I spoke with her prior to the late arrival, and she had very grim hopes for the survival of the moss. She was even offering to ship more and eat the cost. When I got it today (5 days later) it still looked to be in great condition. It was very well packaged and double bagged. The java moss perked right up in my tank, I would have loved to see what it looked like before the trip. I was also surprised by the portion, which was way bigger than I expected. All in all a great transaction.

Java moss is superb addition for any tank. But problem with Java moss is they grow REALLY slowwww.

Great to hear it made it ok...I had my doubts for sure.

Vega, for some reason, mine grows like a bad weed. I sent out two large batches and my tank is still full of the stuff. Must be my well water.

Wow.. what's your wpg? any CO2?

Mine is 2.8 wpg wit yeast c02. Ph ~7, NO2=0, NO3~4ppm.

less than 1 wpg, 20 watt stock light on a 30 gallon deep tank, no co2..nada

hmmmmm.... maybe my tank too hot.. ~85F. Nothing i can do as the temp in M'sia is that hot n not affort the chiller.

I am relatively new to the hobby and need to find out where I can get Java Moss in the southwestern chicagoland area. It would help alot. Thanks

I have never found it locally, your best bet would probably be to order online, ebay, or aquabid. It ships well, and doesn't need any special packaging really. I would also wait until it got a bit warmer out.
