KrissyCakes A++++++++

Perfect arrival date, all fish and other living organisms arrived as previously stated (living). Extras were included and the overall experience was magnificent!

30 minute drip acclimation, all tank parameters are fine as well.

Fine is:
pH-7.4
Ammonia-0
Nitrite-0
Nitrate-0

And these aren't RCS. Opae Ula is often referred to as the "super shrimp" for their ability to go without food for 2-3 years, and lifespan of up to 20 years. These shrimp are very hardy and were very active last night after I acclimated them.

Cool, had to Google that know nothing of these shrimp, knew they wernt rcs due to sheer size.. that's a tough one. After a quick read it seems they're tough as nails but also require extremely specific parameters.. Hawaii is mystical and all..

Yup. I think I may have to stick to my RCS for now, seeing as when I got them they immediately hatched eggs and are loving their system. Don't get me wrong though, I do love the Opaes but I'm not sure what went wrong with them.

After a brief read it seems they only occur in certain areas with very specific attributes such as lava rock and all that fun stuff. If they were wild caught? Goooooood luck! I like my rcs too, chill Lil red algae monsters

With how quickly they breed I doubt you ever will, but if you ever need some at a good price buy them from livefins.com. He (Mitchell Weintraub) sends "10+ Red Cherry Shrimp" with free shipping for $18. When I got my order from him, I counted (excluding the hatchlings) about 20 shrimp.

Noooooo!!! I just read your post!!!!! I had them in a specific gravity of 1.006. I can try to send more at a later time. I got them from my LFS an had them over a year. I got rid of them because I couldn't find much brackish things to put in the tank and figured my cherries would love a tank of their own. Keep me posted!!!

No need to replace them Krissy you did nothing wrong. I may have had too low or high of salinity. You shouldn't have to pay for shipping and give up more for something that isn't your fault. You did a great job!

I might take you up on that offer later since the tank they were in wasn't full brackish water I intend on setting up a 10 g fully brackish for them, nerite snails, and guppies.

Let me know what specific gravity you plan to maintain, that way I can acclimate the shrimp slowly up until your ready
