Hello,
So I've decided to go back into the planted aquarium hobby. It's been only 5 years so I still remember something's but it's just all a bit rusty. So I set up my tank yesterday and of course have it running so I can cycle. My question is if I saved my substrate in a bucket from 5 years ago and reused it will it help with the cycling of my tank? Substrate is Eco complete which was stored away in sealed buckets and the drift wood as stored in plastic bags. Everything was cleaned out and I've done my first parameters test. Here are my results (pictured below). Of course I'm gonna wait it out, I don't plan on rushing.
I'll be reading up trying to refresh my memory but advice would be gladly appreciated.
Just incase picture is blurry here are the readings;
Nitrite 0
Ammonia 0
pH 7.6+
Nitrate is between 5-10
Thanks in advance,
Nex.
