When I was 13 I saved up my chore money and bought a 10 gallon tank and 6 Zebra danios. I did what I could to make the tank nice without much money. While saving up for it I had been gathering interesting pebbles, river stones to act as the substrate. My art class project was a tank background painted in oils. I didn't have a heater or filter to start with, but eventually saved up for those too. I went into the Air Force out of highschool and that was the end of my aquarist hobby, until now.

My summer trip this year got canceled due to COVID-19. So in an act of defiance I took the money saved for the vacation and bought 15 aquariums, some used. [Some are for terrariums but that's a different hobbyist community.]

I don't have all of them up yet. I'm working on learning as much as I can. I thank all of the posters for their knowledge that makes my reimmersion into the hobby a successful one.
