Dojo Loaches have outgrown their litter mates

I have 5 loaches, 3 with red eyes Clark,Wade and Loki and 2 with Black eyes, Uhura and Kagome. I have had them for almost 3 years. The thing is 3 have out grown the other 2 and 1 doesn't seem to grow at all. I have a 46 gal bowfront planted and sand as substrate. 2 hob filters. I feed them pellets, alge discs and flakes. Any clues on whats going on?
