Duct tape safe for fish?

Hi everybody, I'm completely new to this website and was wondering if duct tape if toxic to fish? I dont have an algae scraper so I bought a brand new sponge and put a chopstick in the end as a handle but I need to tape a second chopstick to make it reach the bottom of my tank. Will the duct tape harm my fish? It will only be In the tank for like a minute

I wouldnt risk it. A proper handled algae scraper is like £5, why wouldnt you get the proper tool for the job? Make sure you get the proper type. One for glass will scratch acrylic and vice versa.

I guess I'll have to buy one. I've had my fish tank for about 2 months now and havent had any algae until recently so I never really thought about getting an algae scraper

you are very correct. This is one of the easiest methods, my fish actually are always interested and excited when I put my hands in the tank, they always swim up to me
