Duct tape safe for fish?

Hi everybody, I'm completely new to this website and was wondering if duct tape if toxic to fish? I dont have an algae scraper so I bought a brand new sponge and put a chopstick in the end as a handle but I need to tape a second chopstick to make it reach the bottom of my tank. Will the duct tape harm my fish? It will only be In the tank for like a minute

I wouldnt risk it. A proper handled algae scraper is like 5, why wouldnt you get the proper tool for the job? Make sure you get the proper type. One for glass will scratch acrylic and vice versa.

I guess I'll have to buy one. I've had my fish tank for about 2 months now and havent had any algae until recently so I never really thought about getting an algae scraper

you are very correct. This is one of the easiest methods, my fish actually are always interested and excited when I put my hands in the tank, they always swim up to me
