Hope all are keeping well. I grew up in Florida before Disney and air conditioning. I kept big saltwater tanks with commercial filtration... yada yada.
I really loved it, but boy did it become an addiction of sorts.
In the Midwest now. My girlfriend recently inherited a 1/2 doz 3" Koi with the intention of parking them in one of the stock ponds on our place. we're in a drought, the ponds are down, and the biggest Alligator Snapper I've ever seen has taken up residence. Bottom line, she bought a 39g Topfin bowed front aquarium kit, and intends overwintering them.
Personable as those Koi are, their the nastiest fish I've ever dealt with. The filtration system is inadequate, having to do a major H2O change every 3rd day isn't too bad right now, but come Winter will be a different story.
That's 'bout it, I'll be seeking advice on upgrading the filtration system, and hopefully keep the rascals alive til Spring. Happy Trails
