Lightbulb Hello AA!

Hey guys i'm completely new to art of the fish tank but the brilliant aquascaping I have seen some people do has taken hold of me and I now dream of one day myself creating underwater art.
But as of right now I have a 10g planted tank that i'm sure the fine members of AA could help me out with! It currently has a single blue M gourami 2 longfin zebra Danios and 2 red minor tetras. Aswell as 1 black mystery Snail. the tank was set up about a week before I put in the fish and in tottal is about 4 weeks old. I originally had 3 tetras and 3 danios but since then i have lost 1 of bothn (not sure why).

I will post pictures soon to help with any advice! Thank youn in advance!!

That's a nice tank. Did you cycle before adding fish? What are your readings?

Welcome. Nice looking tank. Do you have a test kit?

Okay, So I have been reading for most of the morning and I have realized I didn't quite cycle my tank properly Like I mentioned earlier I did let it run for a little over a week with just the plants, driftwood, ETC. but I went ahead and listened to the LFS and went ahead with stocking because they said i would be okay.
I got my water tested today and they said the ammonia was a little high and the nitrates were just a tad high aswell.
I didn't mention that for the substrate i'm using fluorite underneath the regular gravel (does that affect the cycleing in any way?) And I hav had to rely on the LFS for water tests any ideas on where to get a good liquid test kit for myself?

Look online for an API master test kit. In the mean time it would be a good idea to do water changes daily just as a precaution.

Welcome to AA btw

Thank you! I will try to get one ASAP!
And I just did a 25% water change for now

Any ideas on how I could get a nice ground cover in my tank??
