I'm wondering if I should get another tetra to keep the other company. I'm also thinking of getting another fish. Any suggestions?

You could get more tetras, and maybe some catfish or amano shrimp.

Thanks Bluethumb! I like the idea of amano shrimp eating the freshwater algae and left over fish food. My levels have been okay lately but my tank has tiny particles floating in it. I'm not sure if it's waste, food or algae. I replaced my filter after a month and a half and am hoping that will clean it up.

Sounds good! Just warning you the shrimp like to take food from the top, and if one of the fish dies and you don't take it out right away they'll eat it too. Al least mine do. They'll pretty much eat anything.
