Hello from Southern California

Hello everyone,

I have a FOWLR 110 gal saltwater tank. Had it about 3 years now, got it from a neighbor that was moving. It was under cared for when I got it. Got it cleaned up but have been battling nitrates for the entire 3 years. I got depressed and ignored it for about a year but last month I got the bug again. I did four 30 gal water changes within a 2 week period and went from 160 to 80, some improvement but still not acceptable. I changed my sump setup to include a refugium 2 weeks ago and did one more water change. After that my nitrates went from 80 to 5.

Success at last....

Interested in DIY LED lighting projects.
