Hello! Had my tank 8 years but struggling!

Hi there,
I've had my smallish tropical aquarium for 8 years, but recently I've had a spate of deaths, I've done a complete overhaul now and all seems to be fine.

I bought a crab from a well known fish dealer 2 days ago but all he seems to do at the moment is hide! Is this normal behaviour? Any feedback would be great!

Hello and welcome!
It looks like you have a fiddler crab. They are actually brackish and require a land area to dry out and molt.
