Now that are kids are a bit bigger, my wife decided that she wanted a pet. I wouldn't let us have a cat or dog for a variety of reasons, but did agree that we might be able to do fish instead. We both had fish when we were kids with our respective parents and they seemed straight forward, don't pee all over the house, don't scratch the floor, and don't need walks.
She got for free a couple of 3 gallon tanks that had limited filtration, but these promptly clouded up with algae filled water. I don't like the appearance of cloudy tanks.
We are getting today a used 75 gallon tank off of Craigslist that was used for a planted aquarium. It includes lights, a heater, a Aquatop CF-500UV canister filter, the plants, some fish, and accessories. I'm pretty excited. It's big but our house can handle it.
Anyways that is my introduction.
