Hi poppa, thanks for sharing. Yup sounds like you got a good thing going with all those tanks. I don't have more room for more tanks but I'm considering creating a pot pond outside my house to compliment the hard work I've been putting in my garden. I don't have a big garden so a pot pond sounded and looks good. Think that will be my next fish project. Slowly and when I get birthday money etc!!!! Lol

Fin rot and Ick. I would post a thread in the "Unhealthy Fish" section and that will generate some help. They will ask for your tank size, filtration, water parameters, everything. If you have a test kit go ahead and test your water for pH, Ammonia, Nitrite, and Nitrate.

I'll make sure to watch for the thread and chime in and help.

Thank you so much for your reply. It seems whatever this little fishy had must have been contagious as the other two fish have now died.

Check with the wildlife association before you go out and catch stuff. It's illegal to keep what you catch in quite a few areas.

Have had fish most of my life but thought I would join somewhere so I can improve my saltwater tank. Excited to look through the topics and see what everyone has said

Hey everyone. I'm from NY and just started keeping fish when a 75 gal SA cichlid tank was donated to work. Learned quickly through trial error and a little loss over the past two years about these guys. Last October (2014) I went and got some African cichlids for my self. I have a 90 gal African cichlid tank and a 29 gal tropical community tank at home.

Here are some pics. The big one is the 90 gal (empty right now cause I just got the tank on Sunday) the 29 gal has 6 2-3 inch cichlids in it and a psychedelic pleco and then the 5 gal beneath the 29 gal has 3 apple snails, some octos and some kuhli loaches in it for now (ill add some fish when the cichlids move out).
