I agree. I am going to start the water changes. I think definitely has something to do with it. I am probably not exporting any of the nutrients.

I have some old salt from about 2 years ago. Should be OK? I am going to mix in a few gallons of the distilled water.
 
eh..if it's a big salt cake and solid, i wouldn't use it. if it's not stuck together and still looks the same, it should be ok.
 
Gotta love when you open up a bag of salt that has been exposed to humidity or water, solid rock. haha
 
Did a 10 percent water change on Monday.
These are the water parameters
Ph= 8.1
amo= 0
nitrite=0
nitrate=3ppm
Hydrometer= 1.022
temp= 75.7

Water clarity is very good
Corals seem to be happy

1 unhappy feather duster left his large tube. Disappeared under live rock
I think we are ready to try another fish

Thoughts?
 
slowly raise the salinity to 1.025-1.026. that's the salinity at the reefs where we collect our livestock.
