Hi! I've had my aquarium for less than a month. It's a 29-gallon tank, and so far I have 4 Platies and 2 Cory Catfish. I'm planning to get some neon tetras, and I understand they like a lower pH. I added just a little pH Down from API, but now I've decided to use peat moss instead. I'm getting it from Amazon, hasn't arrived yet.

Although there are wild caught Neon Tetra most shipped to the lfs are captive bred and will thrive in ph as high as 7.8 range. I personally have a group and that is the ph reading in my area out of the tap. I do use leaf litter in that aquarium. Tbh it will take quite a bit of Peat Moss to lower the ph of hard water.
