Welcome to the Forum Hitman.
Everyone has a different view about how they want their tank. Some like bare tanks - the fish are the stars. Some, like myself like plants and the fish are the co-stars. If your fish are healthy and you are happy then that's good.
Personally, I would top up the tank so the water line is not visible. I think a tank looks better that way and you have more water to help stability.
You seem to have the equipment and regime for plants so it seems a shame not to have more. As I said, I like a heavily planted tank so I'm biased.
Hope you get some good advice from the Forum, I have learnt a lot from the experienced members.
