Hi, I'm a new fishkeeper, my family always had a large and beautiful tank when I was a child and now I'd like to start down the hobby myself. At the moment, I only have one fish. A male Betta splendens kept in a 5 gallon tank, lightly planted with some java ferns and kept company with some nerite snails. No trouble so far. He's making some bubble nests so I take that as a sign of his health.
I recently came into possession of a 55 Gallon Tank and want to transform it into a heavily planted freshwater community tank, with smaller fish like tetras and rasboras. Advice for species would be appreciated, but I'll be making threads in due time.
