We recently bought a 64L tank and did everything needed to set it up (we hope lol). Then we bought out neon tetra fishes (6 of them) but within a day 2 died.....our son was so upset. What we could not understand why one died as shown no disease but the other one went into the filter ( not sure how but it was very tiny one) . So we are now eventually going to get some more fishes but which ones are good with neon tetras?

Welcome to AA ..have you cycled the tank? Also neons are prone to disease and may die unexpectedly.. if you like the look of them there are cardinal tetras which are almost identical yet much hardier.
