New to saltwater

Hello,

Just set up my first nano reef tank in the new Fluval spec 5 gallon.

Everything seems to be stable with my cleaning crew: 4 small hermit crabs, 1 snail.

I have 2 questions...

1. One of my corals has white growth on it. Still has an alive smell to it.
2. When do you add the liquid substitutes- trace elements, 3 ions etc...?

My water perimeters are:
PH 7.8
Nitrate 5ppm
Nitrite 0ppm
Ammonia .3ppm
Temp 77f

Thanks!

Welcome to AA have you cycled the tank? Also there is no need to be dosing anything in a tank that size so understocked. If you ever do decide to dose only dose what you can test for.

Yes, tank has been running for a month and a half. I have gotten ammonia, nitrates, and nitrites down to zero. Got it n the dosing. Thanks!
