New to site/Aquariums

Don't have anything set up yet, but have acquired a 20 (or 30?) gallon tank and a 10 (or 15 gallon tank).

I'm more interested in plants than fish, but the whole ecosystem works best I assume with both fauna and flora, so once I learn a LOT more (alas, I know NUTHIN), am going to hold off from actually doing anything.

so, that's my purpose here: learn what plants (and fish) are good for a beginner, my size of tank, how to deal with soft water, what kind of filter is best for me for the money. I've seen a few youtube videos about making your own filter and don't know if it's worth it, etc.

All for now.

Best,

Pete
