Hi everybody. My name is Tim. I live in Indiana. I am a truck driver and only home on weekends. I've had fresh water aquariums all my life and last year I decided to take the plunge and go saltwater. I got a 55 gal
tank and put in 40 lbs of live gravel, 20 lbs of live sand and 40 lbs of live rock. I have 2 400 gph
circulation pumps, 2 filters and 2 small skimmers. After cycling I slowly added livestock. I have 2 damsels, 1 yellow-tail tang, 1 oscellaris clown, 1 snowflake eel, 1 sand shifting sea star and 1 short-spined sea urchin. I have now decided that I want to convert to a reef tank. I have added another 30 lbs of live rock and a few soft corals and 1 stony coral. All water perameters were fine until last week. Now all of a sudden my nitrates are off the charts. I have cleaned all the filters and started doing water changes to bring them down. Any advice to help out would be greatly appreciated.
