Newbie - help with cycle

Hello, I am new to this forum as a poster, but have read a ton as I embarked on my new tank. Here is where we are at:

4 weeks in to a New Tank Cycle
No fish, 5 snails, 3 crabs (cleanup crew)

PH 7.8
Ammonia 2.0 ppm
Nitrite 1.0 ppm
Nitrate 80 ppm

Is this where I am suppose to be? Things going okay? I know I am not a patient person, but I also want to make sure I am doing this right.

Just got done with a 30% water change this weekend.

Welcome to the AA community. I'd start a thread in the saltwater section, you'll get more views there hence getting more help.

I'm assuming it's saltwater because of the snails and crabs. I will say if it is SW your pH is low and your nitrates are high, I'd do another water change.

If I'm wrong and it's freshwater then start a thread in the freshwater section for more help. Either way, nitrates are high and should be brought down.

Good luck and again welcome
