Ok so i just got a 10 gal tank with hood for 6 bux. I am wanting more plant friendly bulb than the 2 15w bulbs thats in it. What bulbs can i replace them with, with out changing the fixtures and are water splash proof? I keep low-med light plants.

Is it a lamp type screw in type (E 26 I think)?

Ace hardware has a screw base bulb LED Daylight and it is appx 5700K works just fine. I buy the 4 pack as you can use the light near house plants in a lamp and they work fine for growing things.

Ok cool thanks. Tomoro im gonna clean and water check the thrift store 10 gallon i got today and maybe go buy my bulbs.

If you need something narrow there are LED chandeliet bulbs with *normal/E26* not *chandelier/E10* bases just a little more challenging to find in some cases

You may find the full size LEDs won't fit because of diameter. I use CFLs in 5000K, and they grow plants very well.
