About this python thing....

So I recently purchased the aqueon version of the python and I was really excited until I got to thinking. After vacuuming my gravel, how would I treat the water I was adding back into the tank? I didn't think that it would be kosher to add the water treatment stuff for the tap directly into the tank but maybe I'm wrong. Please advise I am currently using the fizzy tabs to treat my tap and I can just imagine my pleco going and sucking on it as soon as it drops in

I just put Prime in as I start to fill, just make sure you treat for the volume of the tank, not just what you're replacing.

I put in enough Prime for the whole tank volume and then refill. I have never had any issues.

Okay thanks, I'll probably just save the fizzy tabs for filling up the 55 gallon and then buy some prime.
