Acrylic aquariums

I plan to order a specially built acrylic aquarium in a few months. Does anyone out there have experience with acrylic aquariums? I'd like to know the pros and cons. I have been told acrylics are superior to glass - much stronger, lighter, clearer and such. I have also been told they scratch easily, but the new plastics don't scratch so much? Who has a large acrylic tank, and have you had any problems? Experienced advice would be much appreciated. LDA
