acrylic care and cleaning

i just picked up a 150 gal acrylic tank with acrylic stand and canopy. the guy i got it from told me that he had it set up as a salty. the tank sat in his finished basement for over a year so its pretty dirty.
i was hoping that you guys could give me some advice on proper materials to use to clean acrylic, proper chemicals (if any) that will get rid of any remaining salt or anything that remains.
i just dont want to put scratches in it by using the wrong stuff.

If you have a tap plastics in your area, they have tons of stuff to use on acrylic. I used their products on my acrylic tank. Some of their products are also mentioned in one of the more known acrylic tank builders, can't remember which one it was though.
