actinic lighting (blue 03)

I added new lights yesterday, and the LFS recommended I go with 1 10,000k light, and one actinic light. I noticed the blue seems to over power the white, and that my tank looks almost a purple color. Will that hurt anything if the light is purple instead of white? I did notice that the blue light brought out the color in the coraline algae....

Won't harm anything. The purple will actually fade after a few weeks to a cool blue color. PC actinics will commonly start out with an intense color when new but will "burn in" quickly enough.

Cheers
Steve
