API Filstar XP2 Replacement Parts

Hi guys and girls I have a Rena api filstar xp2 canister filter not having much luck with it tbf had to setup a filter in tank fluval u3 to help and the water has gone nice in my 55g tank my input pipe and out pipes are old and cracked would it be wise to swap them over for new ones ?? Plus I am finding it mega hard to get the parts in the uk help please
