AquaC Protein Skimmers (Maximizing Foam Production)

Hi all,

I have an AquaC EV-1000 and I was wondering if anyone with this model or a simialr one has had a similar experience.

When I adjust the water level in the skimmer using the exit gate valve I seem to get foam production when the level is a few inches up the cylindrical column. However, when I set the level down to the base of the column (at the top of the box), which is what is recommended in the manual, the foam will not rise up and into the cup. There is a head of foam on the water level but the foam never begins to rise.

Again, the manual says to not rasie the water level above the top of the box.

What does everyone else find with these skimmers?
