Hi
Could someone please answer a really basic question?
Should you leave the tank light on all the time or turn it off at night? I'm worried that if i turn it off the temperature will drop? The tank is in a fairly dark location so i want to make sure the fish have enough light!
Thanks

You should not keep the light on all the time. Fish need rest periods just like we do. What kind of fish do you have? Do you have a heater?

Thanks for that, i have tiger barbs at the moment but have just found out through my last question on the forum that they are not suitable for the size of my tank so i'll be replacing them tomorrow with something different, maybe Cory's.
I have a heater in the tank also!

IMO its good for the fish to have a cycle of light and night. My tank lights stay on from 8-10 hours a day.

Do you have a heater in the tank? What is your current tank temp?
