I have a double CFL with 22" bulbs on my 92 gal corner tank. The light was great when I had a 30 gal reef tank - but is undersized for the larger oscar tank and, after 10 years, it is on its way out. I'm looking for a new light. I initially liked the idea of LED - but I don't want to have to buy a new fixture when the bulbs crap out - so I am now looking at T5 fixtures. I found a few four bulb fixtures that I'm looking at - but was wondering if this is more than I need? Would two bulbs suffice? I was specifically eyeing and aqualife 48" with built in timer that goes for $350 or so. Thoughts?

I have a 6ft hanging t5 unit

It has 8 x 4ft tubes staggered the length

I only ever use 4 tubes I think 4 x 4ft tubes would be to much for your tank as oscars like slightly dimmer light

Dont be dazzled buy fancy timers as they can be purchased cheap for as little as £3
